ABOUT LABL FASHION

A fashion company designed to learn.

We connect responsible production with research, education and place—so every batch can improve the next.

Our proposition

A dependable Kenyan concept-to-delivery partner.

Established in 2020 and operating within Labl Group, Labl Fashion is building a responsible garment platform anchored at Sagalla near Voi in Taita Taveta County. We combine technical product development, modular manufacturing, applied research, skills and visitor learning.

We grow capability in stages. Operations and proof come first; expansion into deeper textile processes follows demand, safety, environmental, people and financial gates.

Theory of change

Better systems create better choices.

Constraints

High minimums, fragmented sourcing, weak specifications, opaque materials and limited rural opportunity.

Interventions

Technical design, small batches, quality gates, digital records, applied research and demand-linked education.

Outcomes

Lower buyer risk, repeatable products, safer work, stronger skills and credible evidence.

Impact

A more inclusive, resilient and responsible East African fashion economy.

How we work

Principles with operational consequences.

Evidence before claims

We say what is known, document scope and avoid unsupported certification language.

Dignity by design

Consent, safe work, clear roles and respectful storytelling belong in the operating system.

Learn before scaling

Pilots reveal fit, demand, process and environmental risk before larger investment.

Use case • Partnership

A university turns a research question into a tested garment pilot.

Researchers define the question with the onsite team, select a controlled material or colour trial, document methods, construct a small set of samples and publish limits alongside findings. Makers contribute practical knowledge and receive attribution under agreed terms.
